Ferry-Mead.

My Day in the 1850s
When we went to Ferry Mead. The first thing we did was get dressed into a long dress.

At Immigration and we had to pick a small slip of paper out of a stone bowl telling you the sickness you got. I got sick but i could still travel. We got a piece of paper and we had written down where we wanted to go, the sickness and the doctor has to sign it.

We went to the V hut it is called the " V hut" because it is shaped like a V well... an upside-down V more like a Λ. What we did at the V hut we polished silverware, swept the floor , ironing clothes , making paper plant pot, sawing wood for the fire. got the leaves

Pioneer crafts we made some French knitting, knitting, candle making rope out of flax.

  1. Hi Caily. It looks like you enjoyed your trip to Ferrymead. I'm sure it was an interesting experience of what life was like in the 1850's. Did you learn anything new from your trip?

Look forward to reading more blog posts!
