Canister Experiment

Canister Experiment

You will need (Materials) 

  • One empty 35mm plastic canister and lid. 
  • One fizzing aspirin tablet
  • Water

What to do (Method)

  1. Head outside.
  2. Break the aspirin tablet in half.
  3. Remove the lid from the canister and put a teaspoon (5 ml) of water into the canister.
    Do the next 2 steps quickly
  4. Drop the tablet half into the canister and snap the cap onto the canister (make sure that it snaps on tightly.)
  5. Quickly put the canister on the ground CAP SIDE DOWN and STEP BACK at least 2 metres.
  6. Stand back and watch!
Variables
We were going to investigate to see if the amount of the tablet will cause the canister to go higher.

What do I think will happen? (Hypothesis) 



I think that when we put in one tablet 


I think that when we put in 1 ½ tablets

The blak canis of I heard a pop and saw it go flying.

1 ½ tablets









It went higher than 1 tablet  and there was a Louder pop.









Conclusion


I noticed the 1 tablet didn't work as well, and it made a smaller reaction
